“In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint and reduce our energy costs, Young Brothers worked with Island Pacific Energy to install a 116kW photovoltaic system under a lease arrangement. The results exceeded our expectations in installation time frame, quality of work and system production. We are consistently enjoying savings in excess of our anticipated projections.”
President, Young Brothers
In 2009, Young Brothers was looking to reduce their electric bill. They wanted to install photovoltaic solar power but did not have the ability to use the tax credits. Island Pacific Energy provided the solution by arranging for Young Brothers to lease a photovoltaic system.
With a lease, Young Brothers pays no money up front. The leasing company takes the tax credits and Young Brothers monthly payment is lower than the savings on their electricity bills. The photovoltaic system is installed on the roof of Young Brothers maintenance building providing nearly 75% of the facilities energy requirements.
The 116kW photovoltaic system is installed on the roof of the maintenance building at Young Brothers maintenance building in Honolulu. The system consists of 432 solar modules and one inverter. The system generates over 180,000kWh of clean, renewable energy annually.
